In June and July of 2016, the owner of the rights to the film “London Has Fallen” filed numerous copyright infringement lawsuits against a few hundred Chicago-area residents. They asked, and received, permission from the court to subpoena the names and addresses of the alleged infringers. The cable company is now sending notification letters to subscribers advising them that their identities are being sought by the plaintiff.
