Cobbler Nevada Continues In Denver With A New Case Against 10 BitTorrent Users

Cobbler Nevada, LLC filed one new BitTorrent copyright infringement cases in the District of Colorado in March of 2016. Denver area internet subscribers have now begun receiving notices that the attorneys for Cobbler are seeking their personal information to advance their case against these subscribers.

Cobbler Nevada is suing for BitTorrent downloads and distribution of the movie “The Cobbler”. If you received a letter from your cable company about a “Cobbler Nevada” lawsuit, the attorneys for the film are claiming that their experts caught you downloading and distributing the film “The Cobbler” using a BitTorrent client. They are asking your cable company to give them your name, address and contact information so they can ask you to pay a large settlement or amend their complaint to make you a publicly named defendant in the case.

Copyright infringement litigation can be expensive and risky, but if you are innocent it can be worthwhile. In some instances a settlement is a wiser use of a defendant’s money. It depends. If you do not use BitTorrent and are certain you are not the downloader, you may have defenses it would be very worthwhile to raise. Erin has 12 years of litigation experience, and can talk with you and advise you on your chances of prevailing if you decide to defend your case and litigate. That litigation experience also allows Erin to advise you on your chances and explain to you why in your case, if you are the downloader, it may well be smarter and cheaper for you to settle. Every defendant has a different set of facts, so everyone deserves an individual professional assessment of what will be best for them based on their circumstances.
