FlavaWorks Entertainment Files Copyright Lawsuit Targeting Gay-Torrents.org Members — What You Need to Know

On April 28, 2026, FlavaWorks Entertainment, Inc. filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against the operators, administrators, and members of Gay-Torrents.org, a private BitTorrent site. The case is captioned FlavaWorks Entertainment, Inc. v. Deniau et al., Case No. 1:26-cv-04857.
If you are a current or former member of Gay-Torrents.org, you may be directly affected by this lawsuit — and you may not know it yet.

What the Lawsuit Alleges
FlavaWorks alleges that Gay-Torrents.org has been used since 2009 to distribute copyrighted adult entertainment content without authorization. Beyond suing the site’s operators and administrators, the complaint names 325 John Doe defendants described as U.S.-resident members of the site. These individuals are alleged to have infringed FlavaWorks’s copyrights by uploading, downloading, or seeding content through the site, by paying for VIP memberships that funded the site’s operations, or by participating in forum discussions about the enforcement campaign.
The complaint asserts seven separate legal theories, including direct and contributory copyright infringement, civil conspiracy, and fraudulent concealment, and seeks statutory damages of up to $150,000 per infringed work, disgorgement of profits, injunctive relief, and attorneys’ fees.

How Members Could Be Identified
FlavaWorks has asked the court for permission to issue expedited subpoenas to email service providers — including Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Yahoo — and to internet service providers, using email addresses and IP addresses associated with Gay-Torrents.org accounts. If granted, those subpoenas could result in your name, address, and account information being turned over to FlavaWorks without prior notice to you.
The complaint also describes a proprietary forensic watermarking system that FlavaWorks claims allows it to trace specific downloaded files back to the subscriber account from which the download originated.
Why You Should Speak with a Lawyer Now
If you are or were a member of Gay-Torrents.org, you may receive a notice in the coming weeks or months indicating that your identifying information has been subpoenaed. At that point, time will be short. An attorney experienced in copyright defense and internet privacy matters can evaluate whether there are grounds to challenge the subpoena, assess the strength of the claims against you, and advise you on your options — including the meaningful differences between defendants based on their specific alleged conduct.
